More Fat Cat Fish

Was not feeling good yesterday so last night did not do much - got three more fish done  so now I'm up to a bakers dozen (13) towards the 36 I want to have done by the weekend

 and a monster

Fat Cat Fish

Made a couple more fish last night - was really hot and the weather turned into torrential rain and wind for about 15 minutes - like a mini tornado - branches down - an old tree in my front yard area most  of it fell to the ground.  Spent about 1/2 an hour picking up branches and lawn furniture that had blown off my deck. After the winds and rain - the sun came out again as if nothing happened.

Instead of luscious lips I decided to make Fat Cat Fish

Uncapped Dichroic Slab - tester

Out of the kiln -
I made sort of a patchwork quilt like I normally do but  then I did not cap with a clear
I was thinking using my zentangle stamp and put the etching cream on  and then cut up but not sure I may just cut up and then etch..... decisions decisions

Glass Lampwork Fish - Stocking up

Although hot in the studio yesterday it was the only time I could make anything (weekend with my granddaughter kept me out of the studio)  I desperately need to make about 3 dozen fish

Yesterday I made 6  (which brings me up to 8 counting the two I did last week)  Great intentions of torching every day last week ended up being the one day for about an hour  and a couple of hours on Sunday

Dichro without clear capping - stacking dichro for cutting - finished polishing

Just finished a quick firing as its terribly hot today in the studio
did not put a clear cap over the dichro so it will be shiny when finished
not a great pic - still in the kiln

stacking new ones up to cut shortly
Polished up a couple of the bracelets from today

Sealers

I found I had a bottle of the Midas Finish Sealer Lacquer and gave it a try

The left is wax the right is the Midas so I'll  leave out and see how they work out  and see if they darken

Fav Tool - dremel with sandpaper

One tool I like to have around and use a lot - for my bracelets for cleaning up, Metal clays -sanding down

You use the dremel -
the split mandrel
and you put the sandpaper in it -
Note that a multipro keyless chuck is used on all my dremels for ease of interchanging mandrels as well as sizes - your not just stuck with the regular dremel sizes  but you can use the foredome ones as well
