3D Zentangle Work

Here is a prototype of a 3D Zentagle I have painted and fused onto glass
it has the bottom design, part of the design on the 1st level of glass and the rest of the design on the 2nd sheet of glass.  They are stacked and put into a frame -  its  only quickly put together to get an idea of what it will look like and again from my iphone  -   I still have to paint the shading on the glass and fire and once done I can then put it together properly and with spacers between the glass to really five it depth. I'll have better pics shortly -  I just went to $1 store and got frames for now till I create ones for resale

Zentangle - another addiction

My wonderful friend invites me to dinner and we had a great time she served great food  and we chatted -  she introduces me to a new craft that she has taken a course for and been certified to teach - Zentangle - If you have never heard of it check it out.  Susan Stortini is here in Ontario and she has the personality to teach you how to properly Zentangle -  Its a Zen thing and it works !  Zentangleing really calms me down - I love it - I have made so many Zentangles and will make more.  They are going to be great for my copper etching, glass painting - painted beads, fused glass etc..

New Studio Vent Hood

So I have not blogged for a month

Well its been almost a month since I blogged.  I get so busy I forget to just take a moment to update
but I've accomplished a lot with my studio.  Installed a sliding door so its easier to enter than with the garage roll up door, cleaned out lots of boxes and insulated a corner to start and moved my work tables around.  Brought my wood lathe, band saw and drill press up from the depths of my basement and got it all cleaned up.  Built a general work table and my biggest accomplishment was ordering and getting my vent hood.  Everyone kept saying about  $2000 for this hood but I went to Southern Supplies and they fabricated it -  3-1/2 hours (1 day after ordering)  and cost about 400.00.  I got it home struggled to get it in the studio by myself and proceeded to set on the table and then attach chains and hung it from the ceiling.  It is so wonderful to see it finally in my studio


I am coming down to the wire - will be installing the exhaust fan and vent by the weekend and I will finally have a functioning ventilation system.

After the show

Well its Monday morning after a great Toronto Bead Society Spring Bead Show -  soooooo tired

Introduction of Just Resin went well, excited to see all my beady friends and customers
Funny I can get up at 6 am to go to shows but come Monday I wanted to drop back into the bed

the best part of the show is chatting with everyone and it seems infuses you with new ideas and to want to play

so tonight I unload my car (too lazy last night) and I plan on staying in the studio till 11pm doing something - not sure what but something -   I promised myself  that I would have my new copper beads done, etched beads, etched pieces, 100's  (yes 100's ) of new lampwork   100's of painted beads, more fused pieces and dichro and possibly some slumped pieces   by the fall fair and of course my resin.

I am working now on a new epoxy glue that bonds (yes bonds) with glass to have better adhesion for findings - I've tried everything and since I am in a position to make it happen I'm looking into it

as well as a possibly making my own line of UV curing epoxy as well to finish out the resin line

so now I hope to have more time to fix my website , get my online store up and running, make new things
